Optilia Digital Dermatoscope with software is a package that is tailored for those who already have a computer but want the same equipment and accessories as a standard kit. The package includes the Mediscope along with lenses as well as the advanced version of the software, OptiPix Dermatoscopy.
The system displays important information and presents a considerable number of additional details of the skin lesions in the deeper levels. The Optilia Digital Dermatoscope Basic Kit includes a 20x-50x optical lens which can easily be adjusted to suit the unique examination. The lens has polarized light source to cancel out reflections from the skin surface and make subsurface features visible without the use of any liquid interface. This kit also includes a 100x magnification lens for inspection of smaller areas of the skin.
The OptiPix Dermatoscopy software system has a powerful and user-friendly interface for documenting, analyzing and following-up. New images can be compared with old ones side by side. It is also possible to compare older images with live video, which gives a reliable comparison method where slight variation can be identified and observed.
Users can obtain precise measurements of the lesions, either by using the predefined calibrations for the included lenses or by calibrating an user defined magnification. Examinations can be printed out as reports, sent over Internet or be stored as a document for teledermatology as well as archived in patients’ files.
OptiPix is built around a patient database system for data storage. The database manager has a powerful search function for easy access of specific patient information and patient examinations. For easy browsing, examinations are stored in chronological order.
The system has a sophisticated imaging platform for body mapping of lesions implemented. Lesions can easily be marked on a body illustration or on a photo of the patient and linked to relevant images.
